AI visionaries, interdisciplinary competencies, and search optimization: the digitalization of tourism discussed at RUDN University

On December 9, 2025, the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Digital Transformation of Business» was held at Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University), organized by the RUDN University Graduate School of Management.


The event focused on current trends in digital transformation across various economic sectors, from manufacturing and finance to hospitality and tourism. More than 200 representatives from government and commercial organizations, the scientific community, and undergraduate and graduate students participated in the conference.

 

Particular attention was paid to aspects such as the development of digital platforms, the implementation of artificial intelligence-based solutions, the adaptation of business models to the new conditions of the digital economy, and the development of human resources for the implementation of digital projects.

The conference featured thematic sessions featuring leading industry experts.

 

The moderators were Alexander Dmitrievich Kvashin, Director of Digitalization at RUDN University, and Konstantin Stanislavovich Goryainov, Executive Director of Safmar Plaza LLC and General Manager of the National Hotel.

 

  1. Digital Technologies for Business

 

The first section addressed the implementation of ERP systems, managing digital transformation, and developing new competencies for employees.

 

Anna Ostrovskaya, Director of the Graduate School of Management at RUDN University, noted:

 

«Digital transformation is not an incidental process, but a systemic restructuring of business models and management practices. Its success is determined not by the availability of technologies per se, but by their integration into business processes and service chains.»

 

Alexey Kislov, Director of the ERP Practice Development Department at 1C, emphasized the importance of standardizing and localizing ERP solutions, as well as adapting them to the specifics of Russian legislation and regulations.
