Traveling to Russia has become fashionable in a certain Eastern country
This was reported by Sergei Voytovich, head of the Russian Union of Travel Industry’s Committee for International Activities. According to the expert, this trend is driven by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ skillful policy regarding the Arab-Israeli conflict, as well as the ease of obtaining a visa, a pleasant climate, diverse natural environment, a high level of security, and the availability of direct flights. Previously, Arab tourists visited Russia primarily from the UAE, but after the launch of direct flights between Riyadh and Moscow, the flow of tourists from Saudi Arabia increased significantly. According to forecasts, by 2025, the number of Saudi tourists visiting Russia will reach 250,000 people per year. To address the lack of reliable information among Arab tourists, the Visit Russia app was launched, developed by the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RUTI) jointly with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. Users can use it to purchase tickets, obtain an e-visa, book accommodations, pay for excursions, and take advantage of other amenities. The mountain resorts of Sochi, visited by guests from the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, have become particularly popular among Arab tourists.
